New mobile site for smartphone and tablet users
04 July 2012
The trend for mobile and smart phone usage is moving in an upward trajectory and is set to continue. Gartner predicts that by 2015, mobile application development projects targeting smartphones and tablets will outnumber native PC projects by a ratio of 4-to-1. Nicoll Curtin has launched a mobile-friendly site to allow users to browse information, search jobs and apply for jobs quickly and easily via their phones. A useful feature is the option to apply for roles via Linkedin once logged in. The candidates profile is condensed into a pdf and emailed to a Nicoll Curtin consultant who can assess the candidate’s relevance and experience for the position.
Lawrence Hargeaves, Nicoll Curtin’s Managing Director said: “It is evident the adoption of smart phones and tablets will continue and we think it is particularly crucial that we can offer our IT-centric candidates who may be travelling to work, or between interviews the ease of being able to apply for jobs on the move. Most people are unlikely to have a CV on their smartphone, so applying via Linkedin is a great solution.”
The content on the Nicoll Curtin website has been condensed to be easily accessible, allowing quick and convenient access. The main aim was to improve the user experience to give access to the basic essentials of site usage and navigation. Candidates can also receive notifications sent by email which can be accessed via their mobile phones.
