My client, a leading global re-insurer, is currently seeking an Infrastructure & Cloud Engineer with at least 10 years of experience, with a minimum of 3 years in a fast-paced multi-site enterprise environment, (including application hosting, voice and data networks, security, and information protection) to join their expanding team in Hong Kong. Reporting to the Head of Technology you will be responsible for the following:

Responsibilities
 
  • Determine which part of the digital assets will be placed in the cloud and what to run on-premises, select platforms (both hardware and software), and tools that will meet technical requirements, business needs, and security policies.
  • Analyse possible threats and vulnerabilities, embed security standards, and monitor adherence to them.
  • Design and implement a detailed disaster recovery plan to ensure that all infrastructure elements (data and systems) have efficient backup solutions.
  • Managing and provisioning of infrastructure through code instead of through manual processes.
  • Plan software updates, system upgrading, and implementation of new elements into the existing IT environment. Create policies and procedures for system integration, control integration testing.
  • Gather and analyse performance and health data from different assets such as hosts, servers, databases, virtual machines, containers, etc.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation for infrastructure, including performance reports, runbooks, problem-solving guidelines, infrastructure upgrade plans and technical requirements.

Requirements
 
  • BSc in relevant subject such as Computer Science, Software Engineering or Information Systems
  • Azure, AWS, or GCP certifications (Azure preferred)
  • Utilisation of Infrastructure as Code concepts to aid with consistency of infrastructure deployment and maintenance
  • Knowledge of SAP infrastructure architecture preferred
  • Windows Server and virtualization tools such as VMWare. Linux experience is a bonus.
  • Core networking TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLAN, Firewalls, WAN accelerators.
  • High availability and disaster recovery architecture, communication, and related technologies
  • Exposure to ITIL concepts and adoption.
  • Experience with regulatory compliance issues, as well as best practices in application and network security.
  • Understanding of modern authentication practices such as Windows Hello, Single sign-on etc.
