Global/Regional Futures + Options Application Support Manager

A leading Investment Bank has an urgent requirement for someone to Head up it’s Front Office Global F&O Application Support team. The successful applicant will be the global team leader of the 1st/2nd level Futures & Options & Cross Asset client connectivity Production Management Team based in London. This role will be directly facing off to the senior stakeholders within the F&O business and F&O technology teams as well as closely working with the EMEA F&O coverage business. The role entails putting together a global strategy for the global functioning of the team, stability and resiliency and hygiene. The candidate will have to liaise with third party vendors, F&O clients, both internal and external, GTI (infrastructure team) to resolve problems/issues raised.

An understanding of the Futures & Options Business is strongly preferred, as is an in depth knowledge of the technologies that make up electronic trading platforms.

Main Responsibilities include:

  • 1st /2nd level support of F&O trading platform. Resolve all issues/problems reported in a timely fashion. Follow up and keep users updated about the progress of the problems/issues reported
  • Running with release management calls
  • Adopting a devops strategy
  • Face off to F&O global business head and F&O tech CBT
  • Build strong working relationships with the Global & Regional F&O AD teams
  • Proactively support knowledge sharing within the Application Service Delivery team
  • Attend information sharing and group training sessions
  • Participate in out-of-hours support, testing & exchange upgrades when required.

Qualifications

Experience:

  • Experience in Technology in the Financial Markets Industry, supporting a trading environment and experience with managing a team
  • Knowledge of Futures & Options trading a strong advantage
  • Must have previous experience with Fix and good knowledge of Fix protocol
  • Experience with direct client interaction
  • Mid size project management experience
  • Previous experience with Ullink (Bridge, OMS) a strong advantage
  • Previous experience with GL Trade architecture, systems and GL API a strong advantage

Technology Skills:

  • OS : MS windows, UNIX and/or LINUX
  • In depth understanding of connectivity, networks, firewall and TCP/IP, DMZ environment, DNS, SSH, Firewalls, VPN clients etc.
  • FIX protocol
  • Scripting (Perl, C Shell, or Bash)
  • Experience with Web Technologies such as Websphere or Apache
  • Experienced with ISVs such as GL, Pats or TT a distinct advantage

Soft Skills:

  • Communication Skills – Ability to communicate at all levels within business and technology
