Rates Middle Office Team Lead

Role Purpose & Responsibilities

Implementation, rationalization and build out of the Global Financial Markets Middle Office program targeting industry best of breed support model. Aligned to FX (including derivatives), Rates, Credit and Repo businesses.

Exciting opportunity to be an integral part of the strategic global Middle Office build delivering business enablement, client experience, robust trade lifecycle management and performance analytics.

  • Develop and implement the Rates Middle Office strategy ensuring value add and global alignment
  • Phased delivery of Sales/Trading support capabilities and focus on continuous improvements
  • Enhanced client experience through improved turnaround times, effective communication and quality assurance
  • Achieve regulatory compliance through a strong understanding of current rules and anticipation of upcoming regulations
  • Active industry participation and steer with global view
  • Adherence to Ops Risk Framework standards of implementation and process management
  • Manage vendor capabilities and closely monitor industry developments and utility offerings
  • Maximize use of industry wide facilities targeting standardization and STP (eg MarkitWire, CLS, Trianna, etc)
  • Stakeholder management ensuring strong communication, transparency and prioritization
  • Support/Drive delivery of key strategic infrastructure initiatives, providing requirements, participation in UAT and transitioning of BAU functions
  • Provide subject matter expertise, representation of Operations to the business and clients
  • New Business/Product enablement including booking model drafting and approval
  • Representation for external/internal and regulator audits

Qualifications & Skills

Required Experience:

  • Middle Office experience from Sales or Trading support role specifically around respective product
  • Minimum three years financial markets experience ideally from a top tier bank
  • Knowledge of downstream processes including Confirmation and Settlement is an advantage

Required Skills:

  • Analytical and strong process improvement mindset
  • Confident communicator able to deal with both Front Office and offshore colleagues
  • Demonstrate strong teamwork with internal and external groups
  • Thrive on working in fast paced environment while maintaining attention to detail

  • Domain expertise across FX products including cash and derivatives
