We’re excited to announce the opening of our new office in Philadelphia, a major milestone in Nicoll Curtin’s global growth. We have been partnering with US-based clients for over a decade, delivering talent solutions to some of the most competitive asset managers, hedge funds and technology companies in the US.
Our on-ground operation, headed from Philadelphia will strengthen our presence across North America and allow us to better support our clients locally.
Bringing our people-first approach to the US
The US office will focus on financial services, banking technology, money tech, and venture capital partnerships. Starting initially with the technology roles, the plans include expanding into governance, risk and compliance in the near future. Our operations will be based across the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast, including Pennsylvania, Delaware, New York, New Jersey, Maryland, Virginia, Connecticut, and Massachusetts.
Our CEO, Neil Clark, said the US expansion marks an important next step in Nicoll Curtin’s journey:
“Establishing our presence in the US, the world’s largest staffing market, is something we’ve aspired to for some time. It allows us to bring our approach, built on understanding that every client and candidate has a choice, and on creating partnerships that deliver outstanding outcomes, to a new market.”
Meet our US leadership
Leading our US team is Brian Van Aken, Senior Vice President and Head of US. With extensive experience in the recruitment industry, Brian will drive our expansion across key technology and financial sectors.
“Opening our Philadelphia office feels like planting a flag in one of America’s most vibrant innovation corridors,” Van Aken said. “It’s an exciting and natural next step in Nicoll Curtin’s journey - expanding our reach into the U.S. while staying true to what’s made Nicoll Curtin successful globally: genuine partnerships, deep market expertise, and a passion for connecting great people with great opportunities.”
Philadelphia was chosen strategically as our first US office location with its strong fintech presence, deep financial roots, and proximity to major technology hubs like New York and Washington, D.C. Van Aken points out the real strategic flexibility and access to an incredible talent pool that this location gives us.
Neil Clark highlights that the timing for the US expansion was directly related to finding the right leadership for this hugely important market. Brian Van Aken has extensive experience in the staffing industry with a track record of leading award-winning companies. His approach to recruitment partnerships will undoubtedly shape the future of Nicoll Curtin US.
“From all my years in staffing, I’ve learned that success isn’t just about filling roles. It’s about building relationships, understanding aspirations, and growing together; truly caring about what both our clients and our candidates need. And I saw this same ethos embedded in the global culture of Nicoll Curtin during my early discussions with Neil Clark and their global heads.”
“With this expansion, we’re not just opening another office. We’re committing to the U.S. market, doubling down on trusted partnerships, and giving clients and candidates a local presence with genuine connections backed by a global brand.”
