Our client is a leading international financial institution undergoing continued technology transformation across its digital banking and payments platforms.

They are looking for an experienced Senior Associate – Credit Card Technology to join their engineering team and play a key role in the development, modernisation and delivery of critical credit card systems.

This is an opportunity for a hands-on technology professional with strong IBM i / AS400, RPGLE, CLLE and credit card issuing domain expertise to work on complex, large-scale systems supporting multiple markets.

The Role

The Senior Associate will be responsible for gathering and analysing requirements, contributing to functional and technical solution design, developing and testing system enhancements, and supporting end-to-end project delivery.

You will work within an Agile delivery environment and play an important role in modernising legacy applications while ensuring platform stability, scalability, security and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and contribute to the development, enhancement and maintenance of critical credit card systems.

  • Work closely with business and technology stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into effective technical solutions.

  • Participate in requirement gathering, solution discussions, functional and technical design, development, testing and documentation.

  • Validate business requirements and solution designs before development begins.

  • Deliver projects and system enhancements within agreed timelines, budgets and quality standards.

Required Skills & Experience

Core Technical Skills

  • Strong hands-on experience with IBM i / AS400 platforms.

  • Strong development experience in RPGLE, CLLE and PL/SQL.

  • Approximately 10–12 years of experience working with AS400-based applications and technologies.

  • Experience with Java, Maven, Git and DevOps tools.

  • Experience working within Agile and Scrum delivery environments.

  • Ability to analyse complex systems and provide effective technical solutions.

  • Experience reviewing code and mentoring or guiding junior developers.

Credit Card & Payments Domain Experience

Candidates must have strong experience within the Credit Card Issuing and Payments domain, including knowledge of:

  • Credit card issuing and processing.

  • Credit card management lifecycle and fulfilment.

  • Card schemes and scheme compliance requirements.

  • ISO 8583 messaging standards and protocols.

  • ENTRACARD product functionality and/or development experience.

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • Strong hands-on development experience in RPGLE, CLLE and PL/SQL.

  • Strong proficiency with the IBM i / AS400 platform.

  • Proven experience within the Credit Card Issuing domain.

  • Experience with ENTRACARD, either from a product, development or support perspective.

  • Strong understanding of software development lifecycle and Agile delivery methodologies.
