Hiring: Core Java Developer / Senior - Equities
 
We are looking for a Core Java Developer / Senior to join our investment banking client in Hong Kong. In this role, you will work closely with teams in Trading and Quantitative Analysis to build reliable systems that ensure accurate pricing models. You will also support the business by being part of a second-line support team for the solutions developed by your team.
 
You Should Have:

  • Java Skills: Strong knowledge of Core Java and familiarity with software development practices, including object-oriented design, collections, multithreading, automated testing, and code reviews.
  • Teamwork: A proven ability to take responsibility in a team setting, collaborate with other IT and business teams, and participate in second-line support as part of a cross-team support group.
  • Financial Knowledge: Some understanding of financial products, particularly equity derivatives, is a plus but not required.
 
HUGE PLUS IF YOU HAVE:
  • Pricing and Risk Systems: Experience with pricing or risk management platforms that handle large amounts of data efficiently.
  • Messaging and Containers: Knowledge of messaging systems (like JMS, IBM MQ) and container tools (such as Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Agile Practices: Experience working in a global team using Agile methods, focusing on continuous improvement, and using tools like Git, Jira, and Confluence.
