Senior DevOps Engineer

Location: Dublin (Hybrid)

Type: Permanent

 

We're looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer to join our client's team and help design, automate and maintain secure, scalable cloud infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines. You'll work closely with engineering teams to improve deployment processes, infrastructure automation and platform reliability in a cloud-native environment.

 

Required Experience

  • 5+ years' experience
  • Strong experience with cloud platforms, containerisation and Infrastructure as Code.
  • Solid understanding of cloud security, CI/CD best practices and microservices.
  • Experience building secure, scalable and highly available cloud environments.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and manage cloud infrastructure on AWS, Azure or GCP.
  • Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins and GitHub Enterprise.
  • Automate infrastructure deployments using Terraform for example.
  • Develop automation scripts using Python and Bash.
  • Deploy and manage containerised workloads with Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Implement monitoring and observability using CloudWatchDatadogPrometheus or equivalent tools.
  • Manage artifact repositories with JFrog Artifactory.
  • Integrate code quality and security tools including SonarQube
  • Implement secure IAM roles, policies and permissions across environments.

  • Experience leading and developing technical teams.
  • Experience delivering large-scale, cloud-native applications within AWS environments.
  • Strong understanding of software architecture, Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Agile delivery methodologies.
  • Proven experience implementing Secure SDLC across engineering teams.
  • Strong knowledge of DevSecOps principles and security-focused software delivery.
  • Experience working with application security tooling, including:
    • SAST (Static Application Security Testing)
    • DAST (Dynamic Application Security Testing)
    • SCA (Software Composition Analysis)
    • Secrets Management
    • Secrets Scanning
  • Experience improving engineering practices through automation, testing and CI/CD.
  • Ability to define technical roadmaps and deliver against strategic objectives.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence engineering and business leaders.
  • Data-driven approach, using analytics and engineering metrics to guide technical decisions.
  • Passion for mentoring engineers and building high-performing teams.

 

Desirable Experience

  • Experience with modern Application Security tooling such as Checkmarx, Veracode, Fortify, SonarQube, Snyk or similar.
  • Background working within enterprise-scale engineering environments.
  • Experience leading security transformation or DevSecOps adoption initiatives.
