Senior KDB Developer | Front Office Trading

Singapore or Hong Kong | Permanent Role | Hybrid Work Arrangement

We are working with a global technology consulting firm looking for an experienced KDB Developer to join its front office banking technology team.

You will work within a trading environment supporting a major global investment bank, building and enhancing systems used across the front office.

What you will be doing

• Develop and enhance applications using Q/KDB+
• Build solutions supporting front office trading workflows
• Analyse complex business and system requirements and translate them into technical solutions
• Establish strong standards across coding, testing, debugging and implementation
• Work closely with engineering, architecture, infrastructure and business stakeholders
• Investigate production and system issues and develop practical solutions
• Contribute to system enhancements supporting new products and trading processes

What we are looking for

• 5+ years of software development with Strong hands on Q/KDB+ development experience
• Previous experience within trading, capital markets or front office banking technology
• Strong Linux and shell scripting knowledge
• Good understanding of the complete SDLC
• Ability to independently analyse complex systems and technical problems
• Strong communication skills when working with technical and business stakeholders
• Candidates coming from investment banks, hedge funds, market makers or electronic trading environments will be advantageous.

In this position, you will take full ownership of the testing strategy across a complex core banking transformation programme, ensuring high-quality delivery across both core systems and satellite applications.

 

You will define and drive the full testing lifecycle, from planning and preparation through to execution and reporting, while acting as the central coordination point between development, business stakeholders, automation teams, and requirements engineers.

 

Your focus will also include expanding the regression testing portfolio and ensuring strong alignment with agile delivery cycles, release planning, and system upgrades.
