A high-impact opportunity is available for a Principal Software Architect with a strong background in software development and a deep, hands-on understanding of cloud-first architectures. This role is perfect for someone who combines technical strategy with real coding experience, and who thrives on working closely with engineering teams to deliver robust, scalable solutions.

You’ll lead the design and implementation of secure, cloud-native architectures, collaborating with product and engineering teams to ensure high performance and reliability. You’ll work with Azure or AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines, and support data-driven initiatives through Snowflake, Databricks, and visualization tools like Power BI or Grafana. Your hands-on knowledge of C#, Java, Python, .NET, Node.js, and modern frontend frameworks such as React or Angular will be crucial.

We're looking for someone with 10+ years of experience in architecture and development who can confidently bridge technical detail with business priorities. You should be fluent in German and English (C1+), and comfortable with occasional on-site visits 🚗.

This role offers a competitive package: CHF 130’000–135’000 base salary, a 20% bonus, flexible working hours, and a hybrid setup with two remote days per week (negotiable based on project needs). I have a brand new contract role (6 month initial) with a financial services client of mine based in Galway. This will be paying up to €500 per day.

Key Skills:

My client, a leading regional financial institution, is seeking a Senior Quant Risk Analyst with deep experience in Risk Analytics to join their expanding team in Hong Kong. The team is responsible for providing Governance and Risk guidelines on new product/service launch, methodology changes and model reviews. Reporting to the Head of Quantitative Risk Management, you will be responsible for the following:
 

Responsibilities
 

• Develop, implement, and maintain risk analytical models, particularly VaR/ES Models, to measure and monitor risks across the organisation.
• Analyse and interpret market data to identify trends and potential risks
• Collaborate closely with IT/Quant Development, Risk Management and Business Analysis teams, as well as other stakeholders, to provide risk-related insights on Derivative positions.
• Work hand-in-hand with the overall Risk department to ensure alignment of risk metrics and methodologies across the organisation
• Analyse portfolio risk metrics and conduct stress testing to assess the impact of potential market scenarios on the portfolio, providing regular reports to senior management
• Ensure that the team is regularly producing high-quality documentation in line with organisational standards.

Requirements

• Highly analytical and detail-oriented with a Masters/PhD degree in a Quantitative field (Physics, Mathematics, Financial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Statistics, etc.)
• Minimum 8 years of experience in financial markets, with hands-on expertise in Derivatives Pricing and Risk modelling.
• Solid Market and/or Liquidity Risk Management experience from a reputable financial institution.
• In-depth understanding of financial and investment products, related risk factors, and trading dynamics
• CPF, CFA, FRM, etc. qualifications are preferred, with excellent Python skills and experience
• Solid communication skills, with the ability to effectively explain complex concepts and manage diverse stakeholder relationships.
• Fluency in English, with Cantonese and Mandarin a great benefit

• Responsible for all corporate actions while overseeing the daily work of 2 juniors
• Manage trade entry and affirmation process (via PMS), and monitor trade settlements
• Custodian and Prime Broker reconciliations
• Liaise with prime brokers, fund administrator and system vendors on break resolution
• Cash management - margin and collateral, facilitating payments
• Monitor short positions and fulfil disclosure obligations

• Weekly NAV estimates
• Point of liaison with prime brokers and fund administrator
• NAV and P/L review, ensure accuracy of accounting entries against fund administrator
• Checker of monthly fund valuation
• Calculating investor and distributor fee rebates

• Monitor fund capital activities
• Streamline operations process, look for deficiencies and improvements.
• Work along with Risk and Finance on operations control and annual fund audit
• Ad-hoc projects (e.g. investors due diligence, broker onboarding)

• Degree holder in Accounting and Finance or related discipline
• 3-6 years of relevant work experience in Fund Accounting and/or Hedge Fund Operations
• Basic understanding of financial products (Options, Fixed Income, Swaps, NDFs)
• Solid knowledge/experience with PMS systems, proficient in Microsoft Office, with Python skills being highly beneficial
• Highly motivated with a “can do” attitude, ability to multi-task and innovative, with great attention to detail.

You will join a specialist team based in Zurich take responsibility for API development. The team developed an integration engine that enables developers to develop their own microservices. They are a crack team that take responsibility for digitalisation efforts.

They do this by following a strict Agile approach to development, making use of high test coverage and also Cucumber for BDD. The core competencies are strong JAVA development skills, good knowledge of the Spring framework (Boot, Integration), microservices and Kafka for streaming. Given the nature of their work, there is containerization using Docker & Kubernetes and their cloud provider is AWS.

As part of this team you will get the best of both worlds in the sense that you will work for a large well funded firm, but get to operate without as much of the classic red tape associated with a large environment.

The company has a very flexible work from home policy, you are expected to be available to come to the office when needed but otherwise are flexible. 

You will ideally speak fluent German, however candidates will be considered without the language skills.
