Principal Cloud Engineer

I am working with one of my tech clients based in Dublin, and they're looking for a Senior Network Engineer to join their team. This role will be a day rate contract role for 12 months.

Responsibilities:

• Design, build, and scale global DWDM networks
• Develop processes for operating and building the optical network
• Evaluate new products and manage commercial tenders
• Ensure optical network compliance with standards
• Review and implement changes on optical systems
• Drive projects to improve DWDM network quality and reliability

Qualifications:

• 7+ years of industry experience
• Proficiency in optical planning, modeling tools, and large DWDM network rollouts
• Expertise in IP networking fundamentals and protocols
• In-depth knowledge of major DWDM platforms (Ciena, Infinera, Cisco)
• Experience with major router platforms (Cisco, Juniper) including supervisory and line cards
• Knowledge of internet routing protocols (BGP, OSPF)
• Excellent network analysis and troubleshooting skills
• Significant experience with DWDM, T1/DS1, DS3, SONET, VLANs/STP, IPv4/IPv6, TCP, BGP, OSPF, HSRP/GLBP, PIMv2, IGMP, LDP, TACACS, IPSEC, VPNs, netflow, DNS, HTTP

Our financial services client based in Galway is looking for a Senior Data Engineer to join their team on a 12 month initial contract basis. The role is a hybrid position with a lucrative rate.

What I'm Looking For:

• At least 5 years of solid experience working with Oracle SQL and PL/SQL, including advanced query development
• Strong analytical mindset with a passion for data exploration and interpretation
• Proven ability to optimize SQL and PL/SQL performance for large-scale systems
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies and a collaborative, iterative approach to development

Skills That Set You Apart:

• Understanding of relational database design and logical data modelling principles
• Experience working in Agile or Scrum teams, with a focus on continuous improvement
• Comfortable using version control systems in a team-based development environment

Bonus Experience That Gives You an Edge:

While this role is primarily database-centric, experience in the following areas will make you stand out:

• Object-oriented programming skills, especially in Java or Python, and familiarity with Spring Boot
• Exposure to cloud-native development using AWS, containers, CI/CD pipelines, and Lambda functions
• Experience designing RESTful APIs and working with microservices and 12-factor app principles

We have a brand new role with our financial services client based in Dublin. The role is a permanent and hybrid position with a lucrative package.

Key Skills and Qualifications:

• Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience with AWS in a production setting.
• Proven track record of building and deploying Docker images.
• Expertise in migrating applications from other container orchestration solutions (e.g., ECS) to Kubernetes, preferably on AWS EKS.
• Demonstrated proficiency in running Kubernetes workloads, ideally on AWS EKS, and managing Kubernetes clusters.
• Familiarity with Confluent or Apache Kafka.
• Experience developing and deploying Helm charts and libraries.
• Hands-on knowledge of Jenkins Core, including crafting and maintaining declarative CI/CD pipelines and libraries.
• Experience with monitoring tools such as CloudWatch, Datadog, and Splunk Cloud.
• Strong knowledge of UNIX operating systems and shell scripting.
• Solid experience managing services and applications in a large AWS cross-account environment, utilizing IAM and federated SSO.
• Ability to design and maintain robust logging, monitoring, and alerting frameworks using tools like Datadog and Splunk.

I have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Systems Engineer with a financial services company based in Galway. This will be part of a growing team within their contact centre function. Here's what I'm looking for:

• 5+ years in systems engineering/similar role
• Agile (Scrum, Kanban) proficiency; knowledge of software design, development, testing, and automation.
• Familiarity with Docker, CI/CD pipelines, Linux, Ansible

• Managing AWS hosted applications with focus on AWS services such as EC2, Systems Manager, S3, CloudWatch, Lambda, etc.
• Creating and maintaining Jenkins Core pipelines.
• The ability to configure, monitor, and act upon Data Dog observables.
• Ability to source and interpret logging data from various sources, e.g. Vendor logs, for debugging and issue resolution.
• Automation skills (PowerShell, Python) and mindset of process improvement.
• Basic understanding a database querying language.
• Basic knowledge of networking and infrastructure.
• Any experience with Tableau or another data visualisation tool is a bonus.
