Based in the heart of Zürich, this full-time Backend Developer role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the future of in-car digital entertainment and interactive technology. The company has built the world’s first gaming platform designed specifically for vehicles — transforming infotainment, sound, and lighting systems into immersive, interactive environments that allow passengers to play games directly from their smartphones. Having already partnered with some of the world’s most recognized automotive and entertainment brands, the team is now broadening its scope beyond gaming to redefine how people experience digital content inside vehicles.
Starting in January 2026, this position offers a competitive total compensation package between CHF 100,000 and 120,000, depending on experience. As a Backend Developer, you’ll design, develop, and maintain high-performing web applications, ensuring scalability, security, and seamless integration with frontend systems. You’ll work collaboratively with frontend engineers, UX specialists, and product stakeholders to bring innovative in-car experiences to life. The role involves building and maintaining APIs and services, writing clean and maintainable code, optimizing system performance, and contributing to code reviews and process improvements across a modern, agile development environment.
You should hold a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience, and have strong proficiency in Python as well as additional backend programming languages such as Java, Kotlin, or C#. Solid experience with Google App Engine (GAE) is essential, alongside a working knowledge of RESTful APIs or GraphQL, version control with Git, and a strong attention to performance, usability, and system reliability.
Candidates with additional expertise in JavaScript frameworks (React, Angular, Vue), databases (SQL/NoSQL), Android Automotive (AAOS), or cloud environments such as Google Cloud Platform (GCP) will be at an advantage. Familiarity with monitoring tools like Prometheus, Grafana, or Sentry, state management libraries (Redux, Vuex, NgRx), testing frameworks (Jest, Cypress, Playwright), and CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions) is also beneficial. A solid understanding of performance optimization techniques and experience working in Agile/Scrum teams will further strengthen your application.
Joining this innovative gaming and automotive technology company means becoming part of a lean, ambitious, and creative team where you’ll have real ownership and the freedom to shape impactful products. You’ll be contributing to a globally recognized platform that merges gaming, entertainment, and mobility — all while enjoying a collaborative, low-bureaucracy environment and a modern office located in Zürich’s vibrant city centre.
