Trading Desk Operations Associate - Crypto

My client is a leading global systematic trading fund currently seeking a COO, from a solid prop trading/ HFT background to be based in their Hong Kong office. Reporting to the global CEO you will be responsible for the following:
 

Responsibilities
 

• Liaise with the various trading teams to optimize trading and position limits workflows and improve risk controls.
• Engage with Tech teams for the enforcement of these risk control and to ensure all trading strategies & systems are being management correctly and efficiently.
• First point of contact with brokers, for all trading and operational issues, fee negotiations, etc.
• Take ownership of daily PnL, cash, position & NAV reconciliations and risk mitigation.
• Conduct due diligence on regulations and exchange rules, short sell & position reporting, and regulatory filings.
• Raise capital, oversee fund formation, operational due diligence and product development.

Requirements

• Excellent educational background, ideally with PhD in Finance, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, etc.
• Extensive experience in Trading and/or Operations at a prop trading firm with a solid understanding of Equities, Futures, ETFs, Options and/or Cryptocurrencies
• Solid understanding of quantitative/medium frequency trading strategies especially in regard to options risks
• Excellent communication and presentation skills in English
• Proficiency in Mandarin and/or Cantonese would be an advantage.

Reporting to the head of the desk you will be responsible for executing and managing crypto trading strategies as well as the following:
 

Responsibilities
 

• Market making, volatility trading, and market-neutral strategies for D1 and options in Crypto markets.
• Drive profitability and manage risk for the portfolio across traditional, centralized and decentralized exchanges
• Work in close collaboration with the Quant and Tech teams to develop and implement alpha-generating trading strategies, leveraging crypto-specific inefficiencies and to design, backtest, and automate trading systems, etc.
• Enhance trade execution and liquidity, accordingly, improve trading efficiency and scalability

Requirements
 

• Undergrad degree (minimum) in Computer Science, Physics, Engineering, Mathematics, etc. Masters degree and above preferable
• Minimum 4 years of proven experience trading Delta One products in cryptocurrency markets, with a proven and profitable track record
• In-depth experience and understanding of the Crypto market microstructure, incl. centralized and decentralized exchanges and funding rate dynamics
• Options trading, experience (pricing, hedging, vol strats, etc.), will be a welcome advantage.
• Proficiency in Linux OS and Python for scripting, strategy development, and data analysis to support trading decisions and automation
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make quick and informed trading decisions, fluency in written and spoken English with an outgoing and engaging personality

Reporting to the Head of Trading and working in proximity with the Quant and Tech teams, you will be responsible for systematic and positional Options trading strategies, as well as the following:
 

Responsibilities

• Implement algorithmic strategies and associated tools specific to Options trading, systematic market making, etc.
• Work with the Quant team to develop trading signals, backtesting, deploying and ultimately managing profitable strategies, and manage the risk.
• Monitor the market to identify trading opportunities and develop trading metrics based on proprietary research and data analysis
• Collaborate with other traders and quantitative researchers to optimise existing strategies and explore new alphas for the desk

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of working with systematic proprietary Options trading, with a proven track record of profitability and consistent trading performance

• In-depth understanding of the Hong Kong market, including consumer behaviour, financial habits, and digital trends
• Solid experience launching and scaling brands in Hong Kong, preferably in FinTech, Banking, Insurance, etc.

• Proven team player/collaborator, comfortable working across teams and geographies.
• Fluency in both English and Cantonese is essential for this role.

Responsibilities

• Engage in market-making options Hong Kong and China markets, developing and executing trading strategies for ETF products
• Implement algorithmic strategies and associated tools specifically for Hong Kong and China markets

• Be responsible for execution across Equities, FX, Futures and other asset classes
• Lead a team responsible for automated execution flows and pursue improvements to reduce the cost of implementing models
• Advise on algorithmic execution methods for Asia markets through an understanding of the underlying market structure and broker offerings
• Analyse large datasets to guide further automation and refine of execution processes
• Interface directly with portfolio managers, brokers, and senior management, compliance, risk teams, etc.

Requirements
