We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer with strong mainframe development expertise to join a high‑performing agile engineering team. You will be part of a team responsible for delivering and enhancing retirement and custody‑related applications, working closely with product owners, architects, and fellow engineers in a modern agile setup.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and maintain high‑quality, scalable mainframe applications
  • Contribute to architecture and application design decisions
  • Develop and support Batch and CICS applications
  • Participate fully in agile scrum ceremonies
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams including product, architecture, and engineering
  • Uphold high standards in code quality, security, automation, and maintainability
  • Support continuous improvement and engineering best practices

Required Experience & Skills
  • 8+ years of professional software design and development experience
  • Degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, IT, or related discipline
  • Strong hands‑on experience with mainframe technologies, including COBOL, DB2, CICS, COBOL Stored Procedures, and Native Stored Procedures
  • Proven experience developing and deploying Batch and CICS applications
  • Solid understanding of mainframe tooling such as ENDEVOR, FILE‑AID, ABEND‑AID, and CONTROL‑M
  • Experience working in an agile / scrum environment
  • Demonstrated track record of successful product delivery

Responsibilities 

 
  • Own end to end technical accountability for key OMS platforms, from order handling, to post close workflows, FIX connectivity, controls, and production stability.
  • Final decision maker for design decisions, incident remediation, and platform evolution in high volume trading environments.
  • Lead complex, high impact initiatives from problem definition through design, execution, release, and post go live stabilisation.
  • Serve as an escalation point for L3 production incidents and chronic business issues, coordinating engineering, QA, infrastructure, and support teams.
