My client is a leading global investment bank currently hiring for a Senior Equity Derivatives Trader to join their Hong Kong team. Reporting to the Global Head of Derivatives Trading you will be responsible for the following:

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Implement Financing and Investment Solutions incorporating specific strategies to ensure that performance objectives and long-term profits are met, helping the overall development of the Equity Derivatives trading business.
  • Establish and maintain frameworks to ensure flow trading processes are efficient, appropriate and compliant, working in partnership with Trading teams globally to ensure the unique value of Equity products.
  • You will also drive the PnL around Equity Derivatives, help drive new initiatives and manage the implementation of Funds and Structured Product strategies.

 

Requirements

 

  • 10+ years experience in EQD Vol Trading (Index/single stock) from a reputable financial institution
  • Master's or ideally PhD in Financial Engineering or a related field.
  • Proven ability to handle quantitative models, and experience with structured products and pricing.
  • Solid experience working with Sales teams in various regions to promote products
  • An ability to maximise total product income by ensuring effective end-to-end client identification, risk management, service and infrastructure.
  • You will have the ability to assess risk and possess excellent interpersonal skills.

You will document existing workflows, tools, data sources, analytics, and reports to build a comprehensive view of the “as-is” state. Using this foundation, you will help develop and compare solution options, estimating costs and benefits to support a strong business case, and evaluating technologies to determine the most effective and efficient path forward.

 

As the project moves into the design phase, you will create detailed functional requirements and participate in collaborative workshops with SMEs and IT to shape the final solution. Additionally, you’ll design integration strategies with existing systems—including core banking, payment processing, and CRM platforms—to ensure a seamless data flow and robust analytics capability. Your work will directly contribute to building a future-ready Insider Monitoring solution aligned with both regulatory demands and organizational goals.

 

Required Experience and Skills:

 

  • 2+ years of relevant work experience in financial services, particularly in Compliance, Risk Management, or Legal areas
  • Solid background in Non-Financial Risk, ideally with Market Conduct exposure
  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in STEM, Economics, Banking, or Finance
  • Proven experience in project management, business analysis, and analytics/reporting
  • Fluent English is required

 

 

Background:

 

To be successful in this role, prior experience in Insider Monitoring within the financial services industry is essential.

 

Duration: This is an initial contract role for a 6 month period, with strong potential for extension.

 

Workload: 100% (Full-time)
