Senior Platform Engineer

We have a brand new role with our financial services client based in Dublin. The role is a permanent and hybrid position with a lucrative package.

Key Skills and Qualifications:

• Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience with AWS in a production setting.
• Proven track record of building and deploying Docker images.
• Expertise in migrating applications from other container orchestration solutions (e.g., ECS) to Kubernetes, preferably on AWS EKS.
• Demonstrated proficiency in running Kubernetes workloads, ideally on AWS EKS, and managing Kubernetes clusters.
• Familiarity with Confluent or Apache Kafka.
• Experience developing and deploying Helm charts and libraries.
• Hands-on knowledge of Jenkins Core, including crafting and maintaining declarative CI/CD pipelines and libraries.
• Experience with monitoring tools such as CloudWatch, Datadog, and Splunk Cloud.
• Strong knowledge of UNIX operating systems and shell scripting.
• Solid experience managing services and applications in a large AWS cross-account environment, utilizing IAM and federated SSO.
• Ability to design and maintain robust logging, monitoring, and alerting frameworks using tools like Datadog and Splunk.

• Design, implement, and maintain robust IP networking infrastructure.
• Configure and manage major internet routing protocols, specifically BGP and OSPF.

I have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Systems Engineer with a financial services company based in Galway. This will be part of a growing team within their contact centre function. Here's what I'm looking for:

• 5+ years in systems engineering/similar role

I am working with a financial services client based in Galway and they're looking for a senior platform engineer to join their team. The selected candidate will have extensive experience in voice/telephony area. This role is a hybrid role in a growing team.

Requirements:

• 3-5 years experience in voice/telephony.
• Experience with Agile (Scrum, Kanban), software design, development, testing, and automation.
• Understanding enterprise-scale platform architecture for high availability and continuity.
• Familiar with data communication protocols (HTTP, SIP, TLS/SSL, TCP/IP, SNMP, LDAP, RDP, SDP).
• Familiarity with Docker, CI/CD pipelines (uDeploy, Ansible).
• Experience with Linux OS management, VoIP, SIP, and data applications/networking.
• Softphone software installs, system backups, and reboots.
• Troubleshooting, dev unit testing/QA, and supporting user acceptance testing.
• Experience supporting 24/7 production environments.
• Supporting operational stability for Call Centers and Investment Centers.

• Managing AWS hosted applications with focus on AWS services such as EC2, Systems Manager, S3, CloudWatch, Lambda, etc.
• Creating and maintaining Jenkins Core pipelines.
• The ability to configure, monitor, and act upon Data Dog observables.
• Ability to source and interpret logging data from various sources, e.g. Vendor logs, for debugging and issue resolution.
• Automation skills (PowerShell, Python) and mindset of process improvement.
• Basic understanding a database querying language.
• Basic knowledge of networking and infrastructure.
• Any experience with Tableau or another data visualisation tool is a bonus.
