They are building a strong international developer ecosystem and is looking for an experienced Developer Relations Lead to grow its technical community and lead developer-focused initiatives worldwide.
About the Role
The Developer Relations Lead will be responsible for building meaningful relationships with developers, engineers, technical founders, and technology communities.
A major focus of the role will be developing and running hackathons, workshops, and technical community programmes. You will work closely with internal product, engineering, marketing, and events teams to create experiences that encourage developers to engage, experiment, and build.
This role would suit someone who is technically credible, well connected within the developer community, and comfortable representing a company at major technology events.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and lead the company’s global developer relations and community strategy.
- Plan and deliver virtual and in-person hackathons, including programme design, partnerships, logistics, participant engagement, and follow-up.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with software engineers, technical founders, open-source contributors, and developer communities.
- Encourage developers to participate in programmes and gather feedback to share practical insights with the product and engineering teams.
- Create technical resources such as guides, tutorials, sample applications, starter projects, and API documentation.
- Deliver workshops, technical presentations, and community sessions.
- Represent the company at conferences, meetups, hackathons, and other industry events.
- Maintain an active presence across relevant developer platforms and online communities.
- Track the performance of developer programmes and report on participation, engagement, project quality, and community growth.
Requirements
- At least five years of experience in Developer Relations, Developer Advocacy, Developer Evangelism, Community Engineering, or a similar role.
- Proven experience organizing hackathons, developer events, technical workshops, or community programmes.
- An established network within the developer, engineering, or technology startup ecosystem.
- Strong technical knowledge and the ability to communicate confidently with engineers and technical leaders.
- Experience working with APIs and the ability to build or troubleshoot simple technical integrations and sample applications.
- Strong communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
- Good project management skills with the ability to manage multiple programmes, partners, and timelines.
- Willingness to travel internationally for conferences, hackathons, and community events.
Nice to Have
- Previous experience as a software engineer or in another hands-on technical role.
- Experience within artificial intelligence, Web3, cloud infrastructure, open-source technology, or a related technical sector.
- An established personal presence within the developer community through speaking, content, open-source contributions, or online engagement.
- Experience working with global developer communities and international technology events.
