I have a brand new permanent opportunity with a financial services client of mine based in Galway. This will be a hybrid position, with a requirement to be onsite 1 week per month (3 weeks fully remote from Ireland).

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of software development experience using Python, NodeJS, or Java, with emphasis on SDLC and automation.
  • 5 years of experience in AWS cloud development and migration, including building and operating highly resilient platforms.

Preferred Skills & Experience

  • Practical expertise with containers (Kubernetes) and serverless applications (Lambda, SQS, DynamoDB, S3).
  • Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform and AWS CloudFormation.
  • Strong background in CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins Core.
  • Proficiency in scripting with PowerShell or Bash/Unix shell scripting.
  • Solid understanding of Linux administration, networking, and load balancing.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with application teams to support deployment activities.
  • Design and maintain shared pipeline utilities for cross-team use.
  • Administer AWS cloud accounts and perform ongoing maintenance tasks.
  • Develop reusable code templates and document standardized procedures.
  • Monitor infrastructure for performance optimization and cost efficiency.
  • Participate in scheduled on-call rotations to provide operational support.

I have a brand new permanent role with a financial services client of mine based in Dublin. This is a hybrid position that would require you to be onsite 1 week per month (3 weeks fully remote).

 

What You Bring

  • 7+ years of experience in IT, with at least 5 years in application security or ethical hacking.
  • Strong manual testing skills, including deep familiarity with OWASP Top 10 vulnerabilities.
  • Proficiency with tools such as Burp Suite, Metasploit, Wireshark, and others.
  • Solid understanding of authentication, authorization, encryption, and secure coding practices.
  • Experience with scripting or programming languages (e.g., Python, Java, JavaScript, SQL).
  • Knowledge of web technologies and APIs (REST, SOAP, JSON, XML).
  • Familiarity with enterprise frameworks (e.g., .NET, Java Spring, Struts).
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and collaboration skills.
  • Industry certifications (e.g., OSCP, GPEN, CEH) are a plus.

 

What You’ll Do

  • Lead and execute security assessments on web and mobile platforms.
  • Emulate attacker behaviour to identify and demonstrate real-world risks.
  • Communicate findings clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with development and operations teams to remediate vulnerabilities.
  • Contribute to internal tooling and research efforts to enhance testing capabilities.
  • Stay informed on emerging threats, tools, and techniques in the cybersecurity field.
