About the Client
We are hiring on behalf of a leading financial services organisation seeking an experienced Software Engineer in Test to join their engineering team. This role focuses on building high‑quality automation frameworks, improving delivery effectiveness, and contributing to a strong engineering and quality culture.
Key Responsibilities

Design and implement automation frameworks for Agile software development.

Contribute to continuous integration and continuous testing processes.

Conduct technical design discussions ensuring best engineering practices, code quality, and application stability.

Recommend and influence decisions regarding suitable automation frameworks.

Collaborate with engineers and architects to maintain database integrity and stable test environments.
-
Develop and implement improved processes, methods, and tools to enhance software delivery effectiveness.

Participate in all Agile ceremonies, including elaboration and planning.
-
Analyse and report on test results and contribute to release readiness.

Provide technical leadership and oversight to ensure persistent quality across development projects.

Mentor team members and promote quality engineering behaviours and practices.
Ideal Profile
-
6+ years of Software Quality Engineering experience.
-
Proven experience with test automation tools and designing/building automation frameworks.

Strong experience with continuous integration and automated deployment tools.

Extensive experience in:

Java, Python, and JavaScript (coding/scripting).
-
Test automation tools such as Selenium, Playwright, Protractor, Cucumber, and Karate.

Relational databases including MySQL and Oracle.
-
Cloud services such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.

Strong collaboration skills with the ability to contribute effectively within engineering teams.

Knowledge of secure coding standards and best practices.
Additional Expertise

Experience with Agile methodologies such as Scrum or Kanban.

Familiarity with containerisation tools (Docker, Kubernetes) and databases.

Cloud experience with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, or willingness to learn cloud‑native data stores.

Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills with the ability to debug complex issues.

Strong communication and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks.

Proactive, collaborative mindset with a willingness to mentor team members.
