About the Job
A financial services organisation with entities and business lines across APAC and Greater China is hiring a CoE Operating Model Consultant to lead the review and scaling of its Centre of Excellence operating model. The engagement covers the full design lifecycle — from current-state assessment through to target model design, nearshoring strategy, and implementation roadmap.
This role sits at the heart of the delivery team, working directly with senior stakeholders across multiple business lines and territories to ensure consistent, end-to-end CoE coverage across the region.
Key Responsibilities:
- Confirm project scope, stakeholder map, and interview plan; establish governance structure and reporting cadence; lead client kickoff and own weekly progress reporting
- Design and conduct stakeholder interviews and workshops; map existing CoE services and processes end-to-end; identify pain points, gaps, and risk areas
- Build a demand vs. capacity model to quantify resource distribution and workload gaps across entities
- Develop a comprehensive service catalogue defining scope, ownership, and eligibility for the target CoE
- Design RACI frameworks, governance forums, and escalation structures for the target operating model
- Define KPIs and SLAs to govern service quality and delivery accountability; assess tooling and controls requirements
- Facilitate validation workshops with senior stakeholders to stress-test and refine the target model design
- Evaluate and model local vs. nearshore/offshore delivery options including risk, control, regulatory, and cost implications
- Develop effort and cost estimates; produce a sequenced implementation roadmap and executive-ready business case
- Produce playbooks, templates, and a decision log to enable client self-sufficiency; support initial rollout planning
Requirements:
- Minimum 5–6 years of experience in management consulting or a senior in-house transformation role
- Proven experience designing CoE or shared services operating models — service catalogue, RACI, governance forums, KPI/SLA frameworks
- Hands-on nearshoring or offshoring strategy experience, including location model evaluation and risk/control assessment
- Strong senior stakeholder management and workshop facilitation skills across complex, multi-entity organisations
- Advanced Excel for capacity and demand modelling; strong PowerPoint for executive-ready output
- Banking or financial services sector experience in APAC and/or Greater China
Nice to Have:
- Cantonese and Mandarin for Hong Kong and GCR entity engagement
- Change management or organisational design certification
- Experience with controls and compliance frameworks in a regulated financial services environment
